One of the best platforms right now on social media for fashion influencers from around the world to show their day-to-day lives and outfits is without a doubt Instagram. For the majority of these instagrammers, delivering content for their audience as well as building up their personal brand is their full time job. But besides all of this, I wanted to start this series to get to know these inspiring fashionistas a little bit better. In the first installment of the Influencer Interview series, I have asked Marie-Lou Duvillier, a Instagram fashion influencer from Belgium, questions to get to know her and her style a little bit better.
- How did you begin your journey to starting in the world of fashion? (What inspired you or who?
- ML: I’ve been obsessing with dressing up in my moms and grandmas closet from when I was young and styling outfits in different ways. I can now express that through my Instagram which I’m so grateful for.

- Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
- ML: So hard to say because so much can happen in 10 years and 10 years ago I would’ve never thought I would have been where I am now. But career wise I would love to have accelerated in something I truly love and am passionate about. I would love to have started a family by then and just be my best self.
- Who is a person or a brand that you would love to work with?
- ML: NA-KD Fashion! I have been such a fan of their styles for years now and a collaboration with them would be a dream.
- Do you have any advice for people who want to start in the fashion industry?
- ML: You have to be very passionate about it and very determined. Loving to buy nice brands isn’t enough. The fashion industry is very harsh so you definitely need a thick skin either way and be willing to work hard.
- Who is your inspiration, someone you look up to?
- ML: My mom is truly my forever style inspo. Celebrity wise I love Hailey Bieber’s and Bella Hadid’s style; basically the model off duty style.

- What do you feel most confident in? And tips for confidence when dressing out of your comfort zone?
- ML: I feel most confident in wearing my good wardrobe basics. For example a blazer ! Rather than going out completely out of my comfort zone, I accessorize a basic piece from my wardrobe. Never fails.
- What is one style in fashion you haven’t worn yet but would love to try?
- ML: Bermuda suit shorts, the bra top and feathers !!

- How did you grow your account to where you are now? (The negatives and positives you encountered?)
- ML: Being consistent definitely helped. Sometimes I was so inspiration-less and sometimes I even thought about quitting but then again: quitters don’t get forward 😄
- Your favorite place that you have traveled to and why? Where would you like to go next?
- ML: 2 summers ago I went to Mykonos which I loved. Also a safari I’ve done in South Africa was one of my favorites. Next I’d like to go to Japan!
