Dad shoes and chunky sneakers are a topic of debate for many people in the fashion world. Either you hate them, or simply love them. Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski, and more. In this post, you’ll find outfit inspo with blazers, skirts, dresses, and more.
White Sneakers
White sneakers are the not just the most basic color, but go with absolutely any outfit and can be dressed up or down — whether it’s a pair of Nike’s, Yeezy’s, or Balenciaga’s
Shorts
A popular summer outfit mainly worn by the Kardashians is definitely the dad shoe look with bike shorts and a long t-shirt or oversized. This was one look that took over the summer of 2019 by celebrities. If you don’t necessarily like the biker shorts look, you can swap them out for a regular pair of distressed jean shorts and a sweatshirt.
Pants
This look can be worn all year round whether it’s in the freezing cold with a trench coat over your chunky knit sweater and pants, or in the summer with a matching top and bottom set, chunky sneakers are super versatile. As pictured below, you can even switch up pants for some sweats, a puffer coat, and a sweater, or straight leg jeans, puffer coat, and just add your sneakers.
Skirts & Dresses:
Pairing dad shoes with skirts and dresses are another versatile way of taking street style and dressing it up. Taking a feminine outfit and switching out one detail such as shoes make it so much more different and unique. Whether it’s a denim skirt, or a satin dress or skirt, the pictures below are some inspo for a fun and comfy, spring and summer outfit. These can also be worn in the winter with a chunky knit, and a skirt, or using a dress too.
Blazers: dress them up or dress them down
Blazers are one of the perfect ways to dress up chunky sneakers. Take an oversized blazer, add a belt to tighten the waist, and pair it with crew socks, chunky sneakers, and then accessorize. If you want to dress this up or down, you can switch out your sneakers for heels. Below, Gigi and Bella Hadid, and Kaia Gerber have worn one of the favorite comfy yet chic outfits. These are some of my personal favorites for simple street style.
