7 Summer Reads (Even If You Hate Reading)

From a very young age, I remember my aunt would take my sister and I on frequent trips to the library, Barnes & Noble, and a local book store that was near her house. I would take my books everywhere with me whether it was on a plane while on the way to our vacation destination, at the park, or even restaurants while waiting for my food. This was something that was very natural for me and I specifically liked to indulge my time in books about crime or mysteries such as the A to Z Mysteries series or buying random ones from the book fairs held in my school.

As soon as I arrived at high school, that completely changed. I was given a lot more work than I used to have in middle school and it would take away any free time I had. When I would have spare moments to do anything that didn’t revolve around school or work, I would spend that time on my phone often and I am still guilty of doing that to this day. One of my new goals to start this school year is to get back on to my old reading habits and read one book at least every month. I am going to be starting college next month as a freshman and having a book in my hand while I am on my way commuting to school is something I’d like to start doing as well.

In this list, I will be giving you 10 summer reads ranging in different topics, even if you hate reading or would simply like to get into it. If you have any suggestions or have even read these yourself, feel free to comment under this post. Happy summer reading!

  1. Nice list, Some of these i havent read yet. It seems like you enjoy contemporary fiction, and I must suggest you check out the author K.A. Tucker. She writes some nice contemporary romances . I have only read two so far – Ten Tiny Breathes and The Simple Wild, but I really enjoyed them. She is an indie author,so you can find her on Amazon, and I believe, Google books. If you don’t mind a lengthy read, you should also check out Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Such a beautiful live story, I absolutely adore Jamie and Claire and their love for eachother! Gabaldon is not self published, so her work can easily be found anywhere, unlike Tucker who is self published.
