10 Things You Can Do With Your Friends This Summer

With several weeks left before school starts, you still have plenty of time to do things with your friends. Of course you can do all of these safely even though there is a global pandemic still happening in the world. This does not mean though you should not wear your masks to go outside! We all still need to remain safe but you can have fun at the same time. You also don’t need to spend a ton of money and go broke trying to have a good time with your friends as well. At the end of the day, as long as you spend quality time and enjoy yourself, that is all that matters.

In this post, there are going to be several fun ways that you can be with your friends to take advantage of the sun from picnics, to photoshoots, painting dates and more. You can even do these things with your partner or spouse and is not just limited to your friends. If you have done any of these activities and want to try them, leave a comment!

1. Picnics

This is something I have seriously been obsessed with doing this summer in my yard and as well as a date I had. Not only is this so fun, but so easy to do and such a great idea with friends. All you need is some fruits, snacks, a blanket, pillows, flowers for decoration, candy, drinks, and even some card games and a speaker for music. Everyone can pitch in to bring different things and you can do this right in your yard too. It is inexpensive, and you can dress up to get some cute pictures.

2. Beach and Lake

Going to the beach or even finding a lake nearby and getting some floats or canoes can be so fun with a whole group of people or just one or two friends. This is one of the best things to do especially in the summer because you can wake up really early to head out, and spend the entire day out enjoying the sun. Pack a bag with some snacks, play some good music, and you’re ready to go! I have been to the beach multiple times this summer and it is one of my favorite things. You can bring some fun stuff to do like a volleyball, football, soccer ball or more.

3. Photoshoot

Whoever said you needed to go out and be ready to go somewhere to have a photoshoot? Something I’ve been doing all summer is photoshoots in my yard! This not only has been so fun to set up but has really got me to start being creative when it comes to my pictures and how they come out. You don’t need to always be dressed up and going to a fancy dinner in order to get the perfect picture. All you need to do is grab any cute outfit, get some inspiration from Insta or Pinterest, and start shooting at your location. It can be at a park, in your yard, or anywhere you can get creative.

4. Biking

Biking and getting exercise whether it’s with my sisters or my friends, is so fun! Of course you need a bike in order to do this but you can easily rent one or just do it for the day and borrow from a friend. You can even bike somewhere like a park or if you’re near a beach, it is a great way to get outside the house and help your body as well. This is one of my favorite summer activities and I wish it was summer all year round just so I could do this all the time.

5. Movie Night & Drive-in Movies

Setting up a blanket in your yard with a projector, or even having a comfy set up in your living room and a great movie, is such a fun way to spend the night or end a sleepover. This is such a fun way to spend with your friends because you can watch a scary or funny movie and still have a good time. You can also make a lot of snacks and order a ton of food too!

6. Self-Care Day

Taking care of yourself, your skin, your body and your mentality is one of the most important things ever! Whether it’s a face mask, exfoliating, taking the day off, or washing your hair and treating your body. Skin care is so important TikTok has introduced so many different kinds of facial stuff that people have been obsessing over. You can also call your friends and set up a whole day where you just spend the day together but you can do mani-pedis, face masks, listen to music, order some food, wear a robe, and some slippers around the house.

7. Renting For The Weekend

This is something a bit more expensive but if you really want the weekend away with your friends, the is such a fun idea! All you need to do is go onto Airbnb, figure out your budget among your friends, and rent a house. Of course the more that the house has, the more expensive it will be but if you are willing to spend the price and save up, it can be such a great getaway.

8. Working Out

Staying fit, being motivated to workout, and dressing up in some workout clothes can be such a great idea to not only keep your body great, but you’re doing it with friends! Of course you need to have a schedule but the more you stick to it, the better and not fall off of it. You can even sign up for some early morning classes and then spend the rest of the day together and get some breakfast afterwards.

9. Painting Date

One of my friends brought up this idea a couple of weeks ago and although we haven’t done it, I thought it was so cute and a great way to be creative. You can get some snacks, buy some paper or a canvas from Michaels, the paint, the brushes, and get a blanket. You can do this in your yard, or drive to a park or even in front of beautiful scene like below. You could even go to the beach and do this and have such a great time.

10. Early Morning Yoga

Waking up early in the summer is something I have a love and hate relationship with. I am not a morning person, but waking up early always make me feels more motivated and excited to get work done. Getting your workout clothes together, grabbing a quick snack, and heading out to do some yoga can be such a great way to de-stress and just enjoy the moment and be way more at peace. You will find yourself having a better and more relaxed day as well.
