While some dread the thought of back to school, I love getting together supplies, being organized, getting back into a routine and habit, and of course shopping for new clothes, shoes, etc. It can be a fun or a miserable time for some and since I am now officially a college freshman at The Fashion Institute of Technology, I have been putting together a lot of exciting content related to college, being a freshman, going to a fashion school, and more! I can’t wait for it all to come together.
For today’s fashion editorial, I put together a bunch of my favorite looks for the back to school season that don’t even need to be worn around this time but any season during the year. I will be featuring polo and sweaters, blazers, school bags, early morning coffee runs anymore. This is going to be a collage of the looks, as well as some style tips on how you can easily dress them up or even dress them down depending on the occasion. I definitely want to invest in a lot of these pieces as well since they’re the perfect staple for any closet and are certainly classics. If you have a favorite look here, definitely leave a comment and enjoy!
One of my favorite things about blazers is how they can be dressed up for a meeting, day at the office, going to work, and more. But, they can also be dressed down with a dress under neath, a skirt, sneakers, and more. I definitely want to develop a colorful and big blazer collection in the future since they’re just so versatile and perfect for almost anything.
Especially in the fall and winter, they look great underneath jackets, puffer jackets, long and short coats, and trench coats.
The blazers in these pictures are very colorful but also they are seen with some minimal and neutral colors. This is why they are so perfect and so comfy. If you are a little cold, or want to spice up an outfit, definitely add a blazer on top whether it is structured or even your dad’s.
This is a trend that is coming back and I am here for it! Since watching Clueless at least 3 times in the past 2 weeks, I have to say that this is a trend which has been coming and going over the years but it is also going to look great.
What I love about Polos is that they can be worn underneath sweaters and even oversized shirts, but can also be worn alone with some pants or a skirt. I have always loved the school girl look too which is another reason why I’m so obsessed with these.
Sweaters & Oversized Looks
Sweaters long and short, and oversized ones are such a cute look for when you’re feeling lazy or just want to be comfy and cozy. The best thing about these sweaters is that there are so many different kinds of sweaters out there. From neutrals to super bright colorful ones.
Sweater vests are also extremely popular now and have been very trendy for the last couple of weeks. I definitely want to invest in some which are a few different colors but they’re so classy and cute!
Without a bag, you wouldn’t be able to hold any of your stuff and the best part about bags is that you can choose one which really suits your personality. Before FIT announced they were going to be doing remote learning and then as other schools across the country announced the same thing, I did have a few bags in mind that I wanted but since I am going to be home now for my first semester, I don’t need one but still love to browse.
What I also love about bags is that you can choose tote bags, shoulder bags, crossbody, and more! The versatility and style of them are basically endless and you can also choose to go more high end or buy an affordable one just to throw around for school and carry the essentials.
With so many jackets out there, they really can make an outfit spiced up. There are leather jackets, trench coats, heavy jackets, lights ones and more. This is what I love about fashion is because there are is so much out there for your taste and if you’re looking for something to catch people’s eye or just to have an essential coat, some stores out there are Aritzia, Glassons, H&M, and Zara.
There is something about skirts that are just so cute, girly, and feminine. You can wear them with almost any top and jacket and they will really look so adorable. Tennis skirts have been such a trend lately this summer as well as the school girl look.
This is not only just for school, but you can wear them for a date with friends, going to the park, grabbing some coffee and more! There is so much out there when it comes to styles of skirts. I personally love more of a minimal look but there are tons of patterns and prints you could find perfect for your style and closet.
