Marc Jacobs x Surf Lodge Takeover: Everything You Need To Know

Last week after scrolling through TikTok and seeing some influencers Instagram stories who I follow online, I saw that they were in Montauk, New York celebrating Marc Jacobs’ Color Collection which was going to be at an exclusive pop up shop at Surf Lodge! It is only available through August 15th, 2021 so I knew that I had to go. The only issue is that it was a little bit of over a 3 hour drive for me and where I live. I was lucky enough to convince my boyfriend to go with me and we planned to head out at 7 am on a Friday morning. Definitely a super long ride and over 6+ hours in the car, but so worth it.

If you’re looking to take a trip down there or maybe you’re in the area, I would totally recommend it and it was so fun to explore the area especially after never having been there!

Commute

Being located about 3 hours away from this location was definitely rough, but so worth the ride. Before we started the trip, we grabbed some breakfast for the ride and then made our way! We originally intended on leaving at 7 am, but by the time we grabbed food and headed out, it was almost 8 am so we still weren’t too bad on the time. As we’re driving, I couldn’t help but take a ton of videos and pics of the beautiful homes that were in the area of Montauk. I’m obsessed with the aesthetic and it’s everything you see like online, in shows, and on TikTok!

Location

The pop up shop is located in Montauk, New York at the Surf Lodge hotel. It’s the perfect spot to host the pop up because it’s right in front of the water, has a beautiful view, and is super cozy! I loved the scenery and at night, it’s definitely beautiful to get some food and drinks with friends so I’d for sure recommend this spot. Especially if you want to spend a long weekend there or take a trip there for the week, Surf Lodge is perfect. There was a pizza spot nearby too where we grabbed some slices that were so good!

Surf Lodge

When you get to the location, you will immediately notice the pink wall and floors with bags, clothes, and accessories all around. The outside also has white and pink gates with the Marc Jacobs logo written on it. When you walk into the pop up shop section, you will be able to purchase anything from tote bags, to small bags, sweatshirts, t-shirts, biker shorts, and more! There is a pretty good variety of items that you can purchase and to the right you can enter Surf Lodge hotel!

Outside Area

Once you continue into the right side of the pop up shop, and enter Surf Lodge hotel, there is an entrance to the outside of the hotel where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the water outside, lights above, tons of small couches and seats, and of course Marc Jacobs branding throughout the pillows. It was decorated so well and perfect for some Instagram pics of course.

Overall + My Purchase

Although the ride was very long and we were in the car for almost 8 hours, it was so worth it and especially because we hadn’t been there ever so it was a great experience. I would go again and I definitely want to stay a little longer because the view was great, and at night I can only imagine how fun and lively it must be. If you’re looking to go, it is only open until August 15th but if you want to still purchase from the brand, you can find all the products that were in store on the Marc Jacobs website. My purchase was the large tote bag as picture below and I am planning on using this for the school year! I can fit my laptop and other items in here perfectly so I’m ready to take on my sophomore year of college.
