Summer Essentials: Tote & Handbag Edition

Every summer while things are going in and out of trend, having the right bag for any occasion is so important. Especially investing in classy pieces that are going to live up to their value and worth, without ever staying out of trend. This does not mean that you have to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars just to get the perfect bag. In this blog post, we are going to roundup some bags that are perfect for any errand, date, or event you have to run to.

Besides just carrying all of the essentials which we covered in a post from a couple of weeks ago “Everyday Essentials You Need In Your Bag,” you should always have classic bags in your closet. Whether it’s for a last minute planned beach trip, a picnic with your friends at the park, early morning breakfast date, and more. This post has got you covered. Leave a comment below letting us know your favorite bag and why or on our Instagram.

Day At The Beach

Having a bag that you don’t mind getting sand on is very ideal when you know you are going to be heading to the beach all day. I typically carry one big bag so I can keep a blanket, sunscreen, snacks, and all the other essentials. When picking out a bag for the beach, I’d stick with more of a tote style because you will find yourself carrying less bags, and more of what you need inside a large one. You can also grab some of these tote bags online at more affordable pricing such as H&M or Zara which are definitely my go-to’s.

Brunch With Friends

Having a bag whether it’s for lunch, brunch, or breakfast should always be able to carry some small pocket essentials. The best part about brunch as well, is that you don’t need to have much in your bag! I love going for a small leather handbag such as a baguette bag when going out to eat, just because it’s not too bulky and can have my wallet, chap stick, my phone and more. I would suggest also going for a bag that can fit comfortably on your shoulder and that’s not too big so it can hang off your chair or if you have room on the table.

Picnic Date At The Park

Going to the park and having a picnic is one of my favorite activities in the summer. I love grabbing snacks, a magazine, sunglasses, a book to read, and just relaxing while basking in the sun. It’s something that I look forward to every single summer. I would recommend getting either a large bag to carry the blanket and some snacks, but if you are not the one hosting the picnic, a small hand bag or shoulder bag will definitely do! You can also take tons of adorable pictures with your friends and just enjoy the weather.

Fancy Dinner Date

As much as I love being casual and dressing down, having some nights where you can go out to a dinner and be a bit more dressed up is always so fun. If you want your outfit to stand out more for your night look, I would just get a bag color to either compliment your shoes, or a different shade from your main outfit. If you want the bag to be the statement of the entire look for the night, then I would go for a bold color or something that will really stand out and draw attention. I like more casual and neutral looks but you never know what mood you will be in for the day.

Day Out In The City

Everyone is always out and about, running, and trying to get to their next destination when in New York. That’s one of the many things I love about the city as well. While it can be fun being in this environment where it’s constantly moving and no sleep, it is also important to be comfortable and have little shoulder pain by the end of the night. I would recommend going for a large but light bag if you are going to be out all day, maybe running errands or meeting up with friends. If you are going out to do small tasks and won’t be gone for much time, then definitely you can grab a cute small leather bag.
